Ivy House
Weddings and Events

Meet our team!

Ivy House Weddings and Events directors, Emma & Rebecca are a dedicated, organised, tea, coffee, cocktail and cake loving, down to earth pair with over 15 years of experience in the wedding industry collectively and who share one single passion – making weddings and events memorable, spectacular and just flippin’ awesome!!

our mantra

You have our undivided attention

We only take on a limited number of events every year so that we are able to give our couples and clients the attention and dedication that they deserve and to allow us to make your event as personal and unique as you are.

We don’t always do everything ‘by the book’ and we love it when our couples and clients want to break with tradition and create an event that represents who they truly are and we are here to support that! We don’t pretend to be trend setters, we never will! We love every style so long as you feel like you can be yourself!

In 2020, we were thrilled to announce that we had won the contract to be the exclusive wedding co-ordinators of The Riding School, Calke Abbey in Derbyshire and run this along side weddings and events all over the country. We are so proud of our very own gorgeous wedding venue and we are looking forward to what the future has to hold for us and cannot wait to meet more couples and clients and plan even more incredible events.

Meet

Emma

A born and bred Derbyshire girl, Emma has worked in the wedding, events and hospitality industry for a little over 20 years. At home, she has a wonderful, supportive family and her husband is her biggest cheerleader! She’s completely outnumbered, Emma has two gorgeous sons and two bonus children – also boys but her dog Betty does bring the female quota up slightly! In her downtime, Emma loves spending time with her boys, watching a romcom (without the boys) and curling up with a cup of tea! She has an unhealthy collection of Emma Bridgewater, has no idea how many pairs of shoes she has and loves a little holiday or two!

How long have you worked in the industry?

So, solely in the wedding industry – 8 years but in hospitality, weddings and events – over 20 years (that makes me feel old!)

Why weddings and events?

I just love them! I have been obsessed with weddings since I was a bridesmaid at the age of 4! I can still remember going to the wedding dress shop to try on my dress and the excitement of all of the ‘grown ups’ – I love that buzz! I remember the rehearsal in the church and the photographer taking our photographs outside, it was magical! It was incredible to be around so many happy people and that’s the reason I do this, I love to make people happy! I love being creative and imaginative.

What is your favourite part of your job?

I’m not sure that I could just choose one! I love meeting couples from all walks of life. I love hearing their engagement story and what they see for their special day. It’s such an honour to be part of a couple’s wedding and to see their vision come to life.

What is the best thing you have seen at a wedding or event?

There are too many to mention! I just love to see our couples being themselves, surrounded by their family and friends and having the time of their lives. That to me is perfection! Second to that… a couple once had singing waitresses and during their rendition of ‘That’s Amore’, all of their guests were waving their napkins in the air but right in the middle of it all, their elderly grandparents were dancing – it was a beautiful moment and complete couple goals!

Meet

Rebecca

Rebecca lives in the beautiful, picturesque village of Tickhill in South Yorkshire with her husband of over 20 years, their three children and dog Toby. She loves shopping, shoes and champagne. Disney movies, princess dresses and seeing people smile. She is totally obsessed with Pinterest, good coffee and cake, as long as it’s chocolate and can often be found in a coffee shop somewhere reading a good book. She is super organised and has had many years’ experience managing people, budgets and stressful situations and has found that wedding planning and on the day coordination is her forte.

How long have you worked in the industry?

I started my career in the corporate world waaaay too many years ago to think about and accidentally found the world of corporate events, there was no one else to plan the annual conference so I took it on and loved it but where was the pretty?! I felt a move into weddings was just a matter of time and took the plunge, launching my own business on Valentine’s Day 2016 and haven’t looked back!

Why weddings and events?

As a family we are really big on events and celebrations and I just can’t imagine doing anything else, I love special occasions, small intimate dinner parties with grazing platters and candlelight to massive off the chart weddings with epic live bands. What is there not to love?!

What is your favourite part of your job?

There is nothing I don’t enjoy about what I do, from the first meeting to taxi home and everything in between. I love knowing that my couples trust me to take away the stress and deliver the day they have envisioned.

What is the best thing you have seen at a wedding or event?

I love It when I see people experience new things, like Grandma doing jager bombs for the first time with the groomsmen! I love seeing my couples surrounded by the people they love, you can feel it in the air and it gives me goosebumps every single time.

We can’t quite put into words how grateful we are for all of your hard work, emotional support, kindness, dedication and patience in helping to build our dream wedding.
