FAQ’S
Hopefully we have covered everything you need to ask in our frequently asked questions, but if not, please do drop us a line!
Q. Where do we start?
For many clients this is the first time they have organised any event that has so many elements to it. It doesn’t matter whether you are having 20 or 220 guests, it can be very overwhelming but knowing where to start can really help.
Q. Do we need a Wedding Planner?
On average weddings take between 250 to 300 hours to plan and with work, children and having a life on top of this, planning a wedding can be very stressful. But, with the right support it doesn’t have to be and can be a lot of fun. Working with the right Wedding Planner means you get to do as much or a little of the planning as you want but you also have someone to bounce ideas off, to ask advice from and to run around doing all of the less fun more mundane jobs such as arranging guest transport and making sure the parking arrangements are in place.
Q. Aren’t Wedding or Party Planners only for the rich and famous?
Planners are for busy people! People juggling families and demanding careers or people who just don’t know where to start.
Q. Will you take over?
This is your event and every event day is different. Our job is to work with you to make sure your day is what you want it to be. We are here to offer advice, guidance and assistance.
Q. Do you control the budget?
Your budget is yours to set and yours to control. We can help offer advice on how to economise if it looks like the budget will be exceeded.
Q. Can you save me money?
In short, yes. What many couples don’t realise is that saving money isn’t always about getting the lowest price for everything, it’s often about avoiding costly errors and prioritising what’s most important to them on their day.
Q. Can you help with family ‘complications!?’
We are there to help our clients work through their planning process and find the happy balance. With parents being separated and possibly remarried, people contributing the budgets, complex family dynamics, we can help our clients deal with tricky situations.
Q. What areas do you cover?
We are based in the East Midlands and Derbyshire but have hosted events from London to Glasgow and in-between.
Q. We don’t live in the UK, can you help us?
Over the past few years we have become zoom experts! We also have an online portal for you to be able to manage your event.
Q. We have a Venue Coordinator, so we don’t need a Wedding Planner
As we also work as a Venue Coordinators at The Riding School, trust us, they are very different jobs.
A Venue Coordinator is employed by the venue to sell and book weddings at their venue and this includes selling their food and drink packages and at some venues, sell the recommended suppliers who they sometimes they make money from as well as making money from the couple. This can mean they take your choice away when it comes to sourcing your own suppliers.
Many of them are employed for 35 hours a week which means they are not on hand all the time when you need something sorting and if the issue is external from the venue they are not obliged to deal with any problems you are having, for example, if the marquee has not arrived or the Florist is stuck in traffic. A wedding planner deals with all this and more.
If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch, your initial consultation is free!
